Freewheeling Up the Hill – Ebook and Cover Design
Freewheeling Up the Hill is a vibrant collection of poetry and prose by Wexford author Margaret Hawkins, blending themes from everyday life with moments of wit, reflection, and imagination. Recognising that a book’s visual identity plays a vital role in shaping first impressions, I worked closely with Margaret to craft a cover that captures the spirit and diversity of her writing while standing out on both physical and digital platforms.
Beyond the cover, I designed a clean and reader-friendly interior layout, ensuring a seamless reading experience across print and digital editions. To add a touch of creativity, I incorporated a unique surprise layout for one of the poems, enhancing the rhythm and engagement of the collection.
The final manuscript was converted into EPUB and Mobi formats, making it fully compatible with Kindle, smartphones, and other e-readers. With both print and ebook versions available on Amazon, the publication brings Margaret’s work to a wider audience in a polished and professional way.
The result is a thoughtfully designed book that not only celebrates Margaret Hawkins’ words but also enhances the reader’s journey, from first glance at the cover to the last line of the text.
I've also completely redesigned her website:
